Got a letter from a builder through PlanPigeon? We picked your address from your council's public planning register because a planning application was made for it. We don't know your name and never use it. To stop all letters like it, add your address to our do-not-mail list.

We don't sell personal data, and we don't use advertising cookies.

If you live at an address we wrote to

WhatWhyLegal basis
The site address of a planning application, its council reference and description, and the date it was made. We get these from a licensed provider of the public planning register. We do not collect or use applicants' names. To post one letter (and at most one follow-up if permission is granted) from one builder in your area who does that kind of work, through our print and post service.Legitimate interests: helping local builders offer their services to people who have just applied for building work, in a way that is low-impact, expected for a public planning application, and easy to stop.
A record of each letter: street (no house number), postcode district, job type, which builder sent it, and when. A one-way code made from the address (a "hash"), which can't be turned back into the address. So we never write about the same application twice, can answer questions about a letter, and can honour the do-not-mail list.Legitimate interests
The do-not-mail list: the one-way code of each address that asked us to stop.So no builder using PlanPigeon writes to that address again.Legal obligation (your right to object to direct marketing)
If you reply to a letter: your name, phone number, email if you give it, when suits you, and your message. To pass them to the builder who wrote to you, so they can contact you about that job, and to send you an acknowledgement if you gave an email.Your request (you asked us to pass them on)

The full address is used only to print and post the letter and is not kept with the letter record. Letter records are deleted after about 13 months. Replies are kept for the same time so we can deal with any questions; the builder you contacted keeps their own copy. The do-not-mail list is kept for as long as we run the service, so your request keeps working.

Your right to object: you can stop all letters at any time, free, at /stop or by writing to us. It applies to every builder who uses PlanPigeon.
